Get Ready for the GAR 2026!

To celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA and also honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we will be running the 7-day relay along the 9/11 Memorial course.  Starting on Sept 5, 2026, at the Flight 93 Memorial near Shanksville PA, we will run through Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia until we get to the Pentagon Memorial on Sept 7. From there we will head north through DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.  We finish at the World Trade Center on Sept 11 which is sure to be an emotional ending to this epic journey.  

The journey is split into 122 legs varying from less than a mile to 8 miles.  We also welcome walkers to join us on the last leg each day, which is designated as "any pace".  

This is the 7th running of The Great American Relay.  The first 3 years we ran coast to coast covering over 3,500 miles each time.  We will get back to that once I quit my job!

This year we are raising money for Tunnel to Towers, a non-profit that raises money to end veteran homelessness.  You may have seen their commercials on TV with various celebrities like Mark Walberg, Cole Hauser, and Kevin James.  Kevin Stiller started the foundation to honor his brother who lost his life at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
