Michael Fiore, 46, was a firefighter with Rescue Company 5, one of FDNY’s elite rescue units. On the morning of September 11, 2001, he responded with his team to the South Tower to assist with the evacuation of trapped civilians. He was last seen inside the South Tower before the building tragically collapses at 9:59am. He passed away doing what he spent a lifetime preparing for… putting others first.
