Thomas D Chaffee was a part of the elite Convair B-58 Hustler Fighter Jet program and his plane (61-2059) won the 1965 Bombing and Navigation challenge sponsored by the
Boeing Corporation. His plane, known as “Greased Lightning”, is on permanent display at the Strategic Air Command Museum at Offutt AFB, NE.
